Most founders don't find out until they've already scaled budget on the wrong number.
If your numbers swing hard without you touching anything, the issue usually isn't the campaign. It's the data feeding it.
A gap this size almost always means duplicate Pixel + CAPI events, or attribution claiming credit for sales it didn't drive.
If you've never checked Event Match Quality in Events Manager, there's a good chance it's quietly sitting below 6/10.
Most brands have 3–5 critical tracking errors they don't know about. We find them all.
Check if you're running 1-day view-through — the #1 cause of inflated Meta ROAS. Fix: 7-day click only.
Verify browser pixel fires correctly AND server-side CAPI is sending deduplicated events with high match quality.
Check EMQ score for Purchase, Add to Cart, Lead events. Below 7/10 = Meta can't find your buyers.
GTM + hardcoded pixel = double counting. We identify and fix all duplicate event firing.
Verify your audiences are built on clean data — not polluted by incorrect event parameters.
Cross-reference Meta reported ROAS against actual revenue. Show you the real gap.
| Issue Category | What We Check & Fix | Business Impact |
|---|---|---|
| Attribution Window | Detect 1-day/7-day view-through inflation, reset to 7-day click-only, validate against real revenue | Accurate ROAS, correct scaling decisions |
| Pixel + CAPI | Verify browser pixel + server-side CAPI fire together, deduplicated via event_id | Recovers iOS 14+ blocked conversions |
| Event Match Quality | Audit hashed customer data (email, phone, fbp/fbc) sent with every event | Better audience matching, lower CPA |
| Duplicate Firing | Find GTM + hardcoded pixel conflicts causing double-counted purchases | Clean conversion data, no inflated counts |
| Custom Audiences | Validate audience source events aren't polluted by bad parameters | Sharper retargeting & lookalikes |
Meta Ads Manager showed 8.16x ROAS. Before scaling, we ran an attribution audit. Real ROAS was 4.4x — 1-day view-through was claiming credit for Google and Direct purchases. Attribution corrected to 7-day click only. Campaign restructured from 470 campaigns to 4. Budget decisions changed completely.
No back-and-forth. A clear 4-step process, done in 5 working days.
Read-only access to Meta Events Manager + Ads Manager. Takes 5 minutes, fully reversible.
We trace every event — Pixel, CAPI, attribution windows, EMQ — against your actual revenue data.
You get a prioritized PDF — what's broken, what it's costing you, what to fix first.

If our audit doesn't surface at least 3 actionable issues costing you real ad spend, you don't pay for it. We're confident enough in what we find that we put it in writing.
Brands running on broken attribution typically overspend 25–40% of their Meta budget on the wrong campaigns — every month the tracking stays broken, that number compounds.

Not vague "great service" reviews. Specific numbers from specific fixes.
We were about to double our Meta budget based on an 8.16x ROAS. Ashish audited our setup and found the real number was 4.4x — half of what we thought. View-through attribution was claiming credit for sales driven by other channels. That finding alone saved us from a very expensive mistake. The fix roadmap was specific, prioritised, and implementable immediately.
As a SaaS founder, I knew our Meta tracking was off — leads were coming in but our Event Match Quality was terrible and CAPI wasn't configured at all. Ashish fixed the entire stack: GTM container, Lead event deduplication, server-side CAPI via Stape. Our campaigns now optimise on real, matched lead data instead of weak browser signals. Night and day difference in lead quality.
We were running ads on both Meta and Quora but had zero confidence in our conversion data. No CAPI, no Quora events, and GTM was incomplete. Ashish set up the entire tracking stack — GTM container, Facebook CAPI via Stape, and Quora Pixel events. For the first time our campaigns are optimising on real lead data instead of guessing.
I manage paid campaigns for D2C and fintech brands across India, US, and Southeast Asia. Every week I see the same problem: brands scaling Meta budgets on numbers that Meta's own attribution inflated.
I built TrackThenScale because fixing tracking is unglamorous work — no one talks about it, but it's the reason most scaling attempts stall. Clean data is the foundation everything else sits on.
When you book a check with me, you're talking to me directly — not an account manager. I'll look at your actual Events Manager, your attribution window, your CAPI setup — and tell you exactly what's broken and what it's costing you.
This is almost always missing deduplication between your browser Pixel and server-side CAPI — both fire the same Purchase event without a shared event_id, so Meta counts it twice. We've seen Shopify stores report 1,250 Meta purchases against 250 real orders from exactly this issue.
Usually a CAPI configuration gap — server-side Purchase events firing without the value and currency parameters, while the browser Pixel sends them correctly. This skews your reported AOV and makes ROAS calculations unreliable.
A real gap exists due to iOS 14.5+ App Tracking Transparency opt-outs, but a gap this large (e.g. 51 vs 5) usually points to the Pixel only firing on a specific cart UI state — common with custom cart drawers, gift-wrap apps, or third-party checkout widgets that don't trigger the standard event.
fbc is the click-ID cookie Meta uses to tie a visit back to a specific ad. It goes missing when a redirect, Safari ITP, or a checkout-domain mismatch strips the fbclid parameter before the Pixel can capture it — breaking attribution even though the Purchase event still fires.
Test purchases register correctly because you're testing on your own device with cookies enabled. Real customers on iOS, with ad blockers, or arriving from a different session often never get matched — the Pixel "firing correctly" in a test only confirms the code works, not that it's catching real traffic.
Yes — read-only access to Meta Ads Manager and Meta Events Manager. We never make changes without your approval.
We'll flag it as a priority fix. The audit covers your current setup — CAPI setup is part of our Done-for-you service.
Meta support tells you if your pixel is firing. We tell you if it's firing correctly, if attribution is accurate, and what it's costing you in wasted spend.
Any platform running Meta Ads — Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, custom sites, lead gen funnels. If you're running Meta Ads, we can audit it.
Yes — EMQ score for every key event (Purchase, Lead, Add to Cart) plus full event_id deduplication validation between Pixel and CAPI so Meta isn't double-counting.
We assess how much of your conversion data is currently lost to iOS restrictions and ad blockers, and whether your consent setup is correctly configured to preserve modeled conversions.
Disconnecting and reconnecting the Meta channel (common on Shopify) frequently resets or duplicates the Pixel/CAPI token, breaking the attribution link mid-flight. We check token continuity as a standard part of every audit.
